Plenary VI: Concurrent Disease of the Aorta or Aortic Valve | Recorded at the AATS Mitral Conclave 2025

Plenary Session VI: Concurrent Disease of the Aorta or Aortic Valve, recorded at the AATS Mitral Conclave 2025, addresses the complex diagnostic and operative challenges associated with combined mitral and aortic or aortic valve pathology. Through expert presentations and case-based discussion, this session explores operative strategies for mitral surgery following TAVR, management of severe aortic calcification, and approaches to the hostile aortic–mitral curtain. Faculty highlight key considerations for procedural sequencing, technical coordination, and risk assessment in patients with multivalve disease. The plenary is designed to support informed surgical planning and integrated management strategies in complex, high-risk clinical scenarios.

Featured Abstract Presentations:

  • Mitral Surgery after TAVR - Operative Strategies
  • The Severely Calcified Aorta with Mitral Valve Disease
  • Managing the Hostile Aortic-Mitral Curtain
